Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has finally revealed the reason why Thomas Lemar decided to stay back at Monaco even after the club submitted a bid of up to 100 million euros for the French midfielder.
Arsene Wenger had made a bid to bring the player to the English Premier League on the deadline of the last transfer window. But the deal fell through as the midfielder rejected the club which broke the deal in the last minute.
The French midfielder chose to remain in Monaco and Arsenal manager revealed that the club would make another bid for the player in the near future.
“He made his decision to remain at Monaco,” Wenger revealed to Telefoot. “we made a €100m offer? And we will be doing it again to bring him here.
“He is a player who is willing to get the ball and can attack and defend.”
Thomas Lemar showed what Arsenal were missing as he found the back of the net for France in their 4-o win against Netherland. He revealed after the game that speculation over his future didn’t affect him in any way.

There were reports that Arsenal pulled out of the deal after Monaco raised the bid to 92 million pounds but with this revelation, it is obvious that the deal broke down because of Thomas Lemar.
