Nasa has reportedly contacted aliens, but never announced it, although a video that caught the contact went viral, the agency has confirmed.
“On The Verge”
The video had implied that Nasa was “on the verge” of announcing the existence of an alien life. The footage used evidence to clarify that the agency had discoveries and findings that would be announced to the public at the right time.
Nasa, on the other hand, has declined the idea of the discovery of alien life.
“Contrary to some reports, there’s no pending announcement from NASA regarding extraterrestrial life,” senior scientist Thomas Zurbuchen wrote on Twitter.
“Are we alone in the universe? While we do not know yet, we have missions moving forward that may help answer that fundamental question.”
Dr Zurbruchen, who is an associate administrator at NASA’s Science Mission Directorate, referred to the mission to detect alien life in testimony he gave in April to the US science and technology committee.
Zurbruchen discoursed about Nasa’s work on astrobiology, including recent and future missions. He believed that Nasa would find significant evidence though mission carried out.
“With all of this activity related to the search for life, in so many different areas, we are on the verge of one of the most profound discoveries, ever,” he said. “And as we know from experience, NASA’s scientific discoveries of today continually drive impactful research for tomorrow that goes far beyond the initial observations.”
However, he did not support the idea that Nasa is on the verge to make bug announcements; he asserted that Nasa hadn’t “found definitive signs of life elsewhere just yet”.
He, on the other hand, stressed on the fact that Nasa is keeping on searching and carrying out missions to make discoveries and settle down the issue whether there is alien life existed at any point.
