Barcelona and France legend, Eric Abidal, has stated that Monaco striker Kylian Mbappe’s transfer fee should not be up to 120 million pounds.
Eric Abidal who is now an ambassador for Barcelona also added that he believes French forward Ousmane Dembele has the ability to fit in at Barcelona.
Mbappe is currently the most sought after player as a lot of top clubs are currently jostling for his signature. The list of clubs on his thrall includes Barcelona, Arsenal, Real Madrid, Manchester City, Liverpool and Manchester United.
However, the Champions of France are fighting hard to hold on to their most valuable asset at the moment. In spite of the record transfer fee that is being reportedly being offered to the club.
Not worth 120 Million Pounds
But in spite of the impressive goal return of Mbappe last season, which helped Monaco win the French Ligue One and reach the semifinal of the Champions League. Eric does not believe he is worth the huge amount that is being reported.
“Mbappe is one of the best players in the world right now but he is not worth 120 million pounds.”
“I think he is thinking of staying back at Monaco and establishing himself there.”
“He needs to also think about getting game time because the World Cup is coming up next year.”
Eric added: “When a club pays 100 million pounds for a player like Pogba, then you would be required to double that amount for a player that has more skills.”
“So the question is what will you pay for the likes of Messi, Neymar and Suarez?”
Mbappe continued his fine form as he provided the assist for Dembele score the winner in their game against England, which they won 3-2. His representative has also not released any statement relating to any potential transfer or destination.
