Gennady Golovkin has revealed that he is not worried that the comeback fight between Floyd Mayweather against Conor McGregor, the UFC Champion will outshine his huge fight against Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez.
Gennady Golovkin, who is the WBC, WBA and IBF middleweight champion are billed to face Alvarez, who is the WBO light-middleweight holder is on the 16th of September.
However, in spite of the attention that is being drawn by the fight between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather, which will take place exactly three weeks earlier before his fight with Alvarez in Las Vegas.
Golovkin believes his fight with Alvarez is a true boing bout and will not be overshadowed by the circus fight between McGregor and Mayweather.
“The Mayweather fight with McGregor is just a business that is not for true fighters and I know people know this already. People know the difference between a circus and a true boxing bout.”
“Everyone knows that Conor is not a true boxer so it is basically a show. So if you want is a show then you can watch them but if you want to see a real fight. Then you will watch my bout against Canelo.”
“The fight between Mayweather and Conor is just a farce and no one really respects that. The Money and show fight is just what it is.”
The most highly anticipated Fight
The fight between Alvarez and Golovkin is arguably one of the most highly anticipated fights that are set to decide the world’s best middleweight boxer.
Golovkin has won over 18 consecutive world middleweight defence in his career thus far and only lost to a point count to American Daniel Jacobs in 2008.
Alvarez, on the other hand, has won two world titles in the weight divisions but lost to Floyd Mayweather in 2013.
