James Rodriguez Moves To Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich has completed the signing of Real Madrid winger James Rodriguez.

The Columbia winger was signed on a two-year loan that gives them an option to buy him for an extra year.

James Rodriguez put pen to paper to a six contract when he joined the club from Monaco for a fee of 71 million pounds in 2014. But only made 22 appearances last season for Real Madrid.

Snubbed The English Premier League

He was previously linked to Manchester United and Chelsea this summer but has now opted to move to the German league.
“Bringing James Rodriguez to Bayern Munich was one of the biggest wishes of Carlo Ancelotti” Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said.

“We are very happy that we have completed this transfer”

James Rodriguez was the top scorer in the World Cup in 2014 and the current captain of Colombia. He was brought to Real Madrid in 2014 during his spell at the club.

However, he was only a fringe player at Real Madrid under coach Zinedine Zidane who took over from Rafa Benitez in 2016 following the Spaniard’s ill-fated reign at the club.

He played 111 times for the club and scored 36 goals with 41 assists for the club but was not listed in the UEFA Champions League team for the final against Juventus last season.

“James Rodriguez is a player that can play in different positions. He is a proven goalscorer and can also set up a couple of goals for other players. He can find the back of the net from a set piece.” Rummenigge said.

“There is no doubt he will improve the team within a short time and we are looking forward to him meeting up with the rest of the guys”.

He has been included in the team that will be heading to Asia on Sunday for Bayern Munich’s tour.
