DJ Crazy Toones Dies of Heart Attack at 45


The West Coat DJ and produce DJ Crazy Toones has reportedly died of a heart attack at the age of 45, on Monday. Many have taken to twitter to mourn the unfortunate death of the artist.


DJ Crazy Toones, Lamar Dupre Calhoun, has died of a heart attack on Monday at the age of 45. He was the brother of Texas-hailing rapper WC and got into music shortly after his brother died in the 1990’s.

He is known for producing West Coast hits such as West Connection’s “Let it Reign,” an instrumental part of Mack 10’s 1995 debut album.

He gained fame as he began working with WC & The Maad Circle, Coolio, Kurupt, Xhibit, Snoop Dogg and many more famous performers. He also had ties to Westside Connection and Lench Mob Records.

His most recent work was with Ice Cube, as he became his official tour DJ. Ice Cube, being one of the first in the world to confirm his death, took to twitter to pay tributes to his friend: “I just lost my homie, brother, DJ, confidant and love one. Crazy Toones passed away today and I’m fuc*** up about it. We miss you & love u.” He posted this with a picture of the DJ on stage.
