Chelsea’s manager, Antonio Conte has thrown his weight behind Arsene Wenger who is currently facing immense pressure to resign at the end of this season.
Conte who is about to clash with Arsene Wenger for the third time this season praised for Wenger for his achievement in Arsenal and stated that he doesn’t believe he will be fired after the FA Cup final on Saturday. As his team will be looking forward to yet another trophy after their Premier League win this season.
Arsene Wenger has endured a torrid season at Arsenal and it was made even worse by the fact that they failed to qualify for the UEFA Champions League final after taking part in the competition in the last 15 years consecutively.
However, Antonio Conte believes Wenger still has a lot to offer and believes football fans today, have short memories.
“I know the history Arsenal has in this competition because they are on the top team and I have not won it yet,” Conte said in his pre-match press conference.
“It will be a great chance for me to win this trophy and I’m sure that Wenger will still be at Arsenal after this game. He has been at the team for so long so its only right that we accord him with the respect that he deserves because this is a rare feat in modern football.”
Conte For Life?
Antonio Conte is receiving lots of support from ex-Chelsea players as Gianluca Vialli has stated he hopes Antonio Conte stays with for at least 25 years.
It will be great to see this happen, but it is very difficult for this to happen in modern football even though it is very important to maintain longevity. So as to build a formidable team for now and the future.
